Front Desk Student Assistant Chico
The Receptionist position has distinct areas of responsibility. The receptionist works at the PATH Scholars Center front desk, assisting professional staff and student staff members, as well as callers and visitors to the office. The receptionist possesses above average communication skills and has a basic knowledge of university policies and procedures. In addition, the receptionist works together with the Peer Coaches, instructing workshops and program planning. This position requires a two-semester commitment, in addition to mandatory training.
2026-27 Lecturer Pool Department of Management Chico
The Management Department in the College of Business is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026-27 academic year. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.
Tribal Relations Land Use Specialist (Administrator I) Chico
Under the general direction of the Director of Tribal Relations, the Tribal Relations Land Use Specialist provides campus-wide oversight of cultural resource compliance and Tribal engagement for ground-disturbing activities. The position serves as the institutional authority ensuring compliance with CSU policies, including NAGPRA, and applicable state and federal historic preservation laws. The Specialist manages a program governing all University-owned, managed, affiliated, or sponsored lands, including the University Farm, Ecological Reserves, main campus, and off-site activities. Oversight includes instructional fieldwork, research, agriculture, facilities, restoration, infrastructure, and externally funded projects. The incumbent administers campus review and approval processes requiring Tribal consultation. Consultation is coordinated through the Office of Tribal Relations prior to project initiation. The Specialist ensures consultation is timely, conducted in good faith, documented, and aligned with CSU standards for engagement with federally and non-federally recognized California Tribes. In recognition of the University’s location on Mechoopda lands, the Specialist coordinates with the Mechoopda Indian Tribe to incorporate Tribal perspectives, protocols, and recommendations into planning and decision-making. The Specialist establishes procedures and controls; oversees cultural monitoring; coordinates with the Native American Heritage Commission; and reviews historic registers. This role ensures Tribal recommendations inform outcomes and that no activity proceeds at culturally significant sites. Provides leadership to campus units with authority to delay, condition, or deny activities pending consultation. Ensures compliance, protects cultural resources, and mitigates risk. Director of Employee and Labor Relations (Administrator II) Chico
The Director of Employee and Labor Relations leads the development, implementation, and coordination of labor relations, compliance, and progressive discipline oversight activities for all staff positions except faculty, research, graduate, and student assistants (Unit 3 and Unit 11 positions). The Director establishes and implements guidelines and practices to ensure the operational needs of the unit and the campus are met. This position provides high-quality customer service and works to resolve a wide range of complex employee and labor relations matters. The Director provides sound and authoritative employee and labor relations guidance to campus management, responds to inquiries from campus administrators, and researches issues related to employment and labor laws and regulations. The Director also participates in the development of systems to monitor the effectiveness of policies, procedures, and practices, and develops and delivers training programs for the campus community.
