The Office of Admissions is the first point of contact for most students and families pursuing the dreams of self-improvement, career advancement, and social mobility achieved through higher education. Our team of 25 professional staff and 16 student assistants works closely with undergraduate domestic high school, transfer, and returning students and families from the time they express interest in attending Chico State all the way into their first semester of school, ensuring they have the information they need to apply and enroll successfully. We are seeking two Public Contact Specialists (PCS) who can work well as a small team, but also as members of the larger Office of Admissions team. While serving as the public faces of the office, the PCS must be able to correctly distribute in-person customers, phone calls, mail, and emails to the proper teams within the office quickly while maintaining good customer service, seeking to de-escalate high-tension situations, and staying prepared to respond to ever-changing needs of the public. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the data collection and review of course-taking patterns and preparation trends for students in the service area high schools, as well as review of first-year educational outcomes for those attending Chico State. The incumbent will play a key role in organizing events sponsored by EAP (for example, statewide EAP meetings hosted by Chico State) and developing college readiness events as needed.
