Dream Center Coordinator (Student Services Professional III) Chico
Under the general direction of the Director, the Coordinator performs moderately complex professional student service work and is responsible for the oversight, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of services, programs, events, and activities to engage and promote the success of undocumented students and students from mixed-status immigrant families at CSU, Chico. Dream Center Coordinator is the expert for our undocumented student population—incumbent has decision-making authority. The Recreational Sports Coach reports to the Director of Recreational Sports and is supervised by the Sport Club Coordinator. Incumbent is responsible for providing a safe, educational environment for skill development, sportsmanship and tactical knowledge acquisition of an assigned team. The Chico State Sport Club Program provides students the opportunity to participate in competitive sports against other intercollegiate teams and represent Chico State, as a means to enhance their collegiate experience and provide a vehicle for a well-rounded education through physical, social, and leadership development. Lead Custodian Chico
Under general supervision, the Lead Custodian provides leadership in all facets of the cleaning operation for University Housing giving work direction and training for the custodial staff and student employee staff in this department. Working independently and/or as part of a team, the incumbent is responsible for providing general cleaning and custodial care and support, performing their duties in their specific assigned work area and in other work areas as needed. Work areas are located within buildings, facilities, structures, public areas, patios, entryways and workshops, adjacent areas and/or portions thereof, but are not limited to these areas. Executive Outreach Manager (Administrator I) Chico
Reporting to the AVP, the Executive Outreach Manager is responsible for identification of and outreach to alumni, foundation and corporate executives and initiating relationships that support philanthropic giving to the university. The incumbent is responsible for assessing new donor prospects for giving capacity, affinity, and inclination to support the university. After originating contact with new donor prospects the outreach officer will facilitate meetings with an appropriate regional officer. The incumbent will participate as a member of the University Advancement Division in the execution of a comprehensive development program with a particular focus on new prospect identification and engagement and managing a small portfolio of donors. Lead Plumber Chico
Under general supervision, the Lead Plumber works with and is in charge of a small group or crew of skilled Plumbers and semi-skilled assistants involved in completing the work outlined in CSU Classification and Qualification Standards (Standard) for the Plumber classification series. In addition to Plumber duties, the Lead Plumber has the additional responsibilities of providing lead work direction to several journey-level crafts workers and semi-skilled assistants, laying out and coordinating the work flow for jobs, and preparing materials lists and ordering supplies for jobs. This position spends the majority of time working as a skilled plumber, but has ancillary lead work and project planning responsibilities.
Building Service Engineer Chico
Working independently, under general supervision, Building Service Engineers perform maintenance and repair work on a wide range of heating, ventilating, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical, refrigeration, air conditioning, water systems and auxiliary equipment. Incumbent will operate, test, adjust, and calibrate, boiler, air conditioning machinery, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or microprocessor control instruments. Building Service Engineers monitor building systems data, adjust systems accordingly and respond to service requests to adjust airflow, temperature and humidity balances for individual rooms, building areas or buildings. The duties include testing and chemically treating boiler, condenser, and cooling tower water and water from other systems, as well as maintenance, inspection, diagnoses and emergency repairs for systems. Building Service Engineers may need to solder, braze or weld pipe in underground vaults or in mechanical rooms. Incumbent will regularly use features of building automation systems to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in the HVAC systems and adjust to optimize energy conservation, and may maintain logs of maintenance and repairs, using manual and computerized record-keeping systems, and provide instruction and/or work with semi-skilled or unskilled assistants. Duties also include swimming pool maintenance, and work on bearings, shafts, seals, rings and electrical wiring and installation of central system parts, gages, valves and pipes. This position requires the application of journey-level skills in one or more of the applicable trades. Incumbents are expected to rotate through various shift assignments at the central plant to fill in for Operating Engineers on a relief basis as needed.
