Job/Department Summary:

Working independently under general direction of the Information Security Officer (ISO), the Information Security Risk Analyst provides functional governance, risk and compliance (GRC) reporting, oversight and user support for critical campus systems, data repositories, business processes, critical vendors, and partner operations that impact information security and compliance. This position is responsible for ongoing cyber risk management assessment and reporting, IT risk assessment and reporting, critical vendor risk monitoring and serves as the point of contact for information security governance and compliance related issues. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing GRC tools, software, risk assessments, and providing necessary training for end users in support of state and/or locally mandated cyber and information security directives.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills: 

  • Bilingual.
  • Master’s Degree in computer science, information systems, or other job-related field.
  • Experience in higher education information technology.
  • Experience in Information Security or risk management related position.
  • Experience related to compliance frameworks (PCI, HIPAA, and FERPA)
  • Experience with PeopleSoft security (Campus Solutions, HR, or Finance).
  • Experience using vulnerability management software.
  • Experience using GRC tools to track/monitor/report cyber risk.
  • Experience performing Higher education IT vendor security reviews
  • Information Security Certification (CISSP, GIAC, CEH, Security +)

Required Education and Experience:

The qualifications listed above would normally be obtained by a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems educational technology, communications or job-related field or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study.
AND
Two years of full-time job-related experience demonstrating proficiency in performing most or all of the work assignments defined for the position.
OR
An equivalent combination of job-related experience and education providing the requisite skills and knowledge to be fully proficient in performing most or all of the work assignments defined for the position.

Time Base: Full-time

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00-5:30. *This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule such as 2 days remote / 3 days in person.

CSU Classification Salary Range:  $56,136 - $138,564 per year. (Anticipated hiring salary not expected to exceed $78,700 per year.)
