The Position: Assistant or Associate Tenure-Track Professor

Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience. (Anticipated hiring range: the Asst Prof range is $78,000-$82,000 and Assoc. Prof range is $85,000-$89,000.)

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a terminal degree in Social Work or related area. Candidates nearing completion of the terminal degree may be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the degree must be met no later than the start date of the position.

Per the Council on Social Work Education, the School of Social Work also requires candidates to hold a master’s degree in Social Work , with two years of post MSW practice experience. Candidates must also have practice and/or teaching experience in behavioral health such as mental health and substance use prevention and treatment at the micro, messo, and/or macro level. In addition, we are looking for teaching experience across the curriculum, human behavior in the social environment, and substance use; ability to utilize educational technology both online and in the classroom; interpersonal skills that facilitate communication and connection with diverse communities and disciplines.

Responsibilities:

This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching both undergraduates and graduates, research and scholarship, and service which entails committee work at various levels of the University. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.
