Job Summary

  1. Provide administrative support for department head as follows:  coordinate department head calendar, assist with and prepare departmental survey forms, obtain institutional data and compile for use in various reports and documents.
  2. In coordination with the ASC II, recruit, hire, and train student office assistants, directly supervise by assigning work, reviewing completed work and discussing goals and expectations. 
  3. Plan and coordinate student-oriented special events, including but not limited to welcome events, open house, and commencement events, and coordinate department advisory council meetings.
  4. Oversee maintenance of, and updates to, department website and coordinate FSN newsletter and social media platforms.
  5. Provide support for weekly student announcements.
  6. Apply college policies and procedures pertaining to student evaluation of faculty, oversee preparation and distribution of evaluation materials and distribution to personnel files.
  7. Advertise and coordinate application process for department scholarships, convene faculty committee and participate in deliberations to determine appropriate recipients; interact with university scholarship program coordinator.
  8. Coordinate and oversee donor letters.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or its equivalent. Four years of general office support or technical experience. (Training at a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for two years of the required experience on the basis of one year of college education for 6 months of experience)

Salary:

Anticipated Hiring Range: $22.29 - $24.52 per hour

Classification Range: $22.29 - $35.03 per hour
