Position Description

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Research Integrity and Compliance and in close collaboration with the Associate Vice President for Research Administration, the Research Technology Project Lead provides leadership, project management, business analysis, and software configuration services for Division of Research technology projects. The Research Technology Project Lead will be responsible for the planning, tracking, and implementation of projects, interfacing with the ITS team/s completing the technical work and the functional users within Division of Research and across campus. The incumbent will also be responsible for ongoing configuration of research administration software.

Department Summary

In support of the University’s research, creative, scholarly activities, and economic development activities, Research Integrity and Compliance supports the ethical and compliant conduct of research on campus, with the goal of demystifying compliance activities related to Human Subjects, Animal Subjects, Conflict of Interest, Export Control, Research Misconduct, Biosafety, and Environmental Health and Safety.

Key Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices for managing, developing, and administering complex projects.
  • Working knowledge or demonstrated ability to obtain working knowledge of NIST 800-171 and other federal cybersecurity compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex business processes, understand how processes could be configured within a software system, and manage configurations of complex software platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently write user documentation and provide training to individuals with varying levels of software experience and competency.
  • Demonstrated experience managing software vendor relationships, including escalating issues while maintaining a positive relationship with vendors.

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university. 
  • Four years of technical or administrative experience. 
  • A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
  • Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $90,000 - $110,000 Per Year

Classification Range: $66,444 - $120,168 Per Year
