Duties include troubleshooting and testing systems (including backflow devices), assembling and installing pipes, valves, and fittings, managing lab utilities, estimating project costs and materials, inspecting work for code compliance, and maintaining tools, equipment, and records. Work may involve exposure to hazardous materials.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Building Infrastructure Trades, The Facilities Control Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, adjustment and repair of electric, electronic, pneumatic and digitally controlled building automation systems, which manage the most complex HVAC and refrigeration systems.

The laborer performs manual labor including moving heavy furniture and equipment, assisting with event setup, and loading/unloading materials. Cleans and maintains assigned areas removing debris, power washing, clearing gutters and drainage, and hauling waste and recyclables. Supports construction and grounds crews with basic tasks such as site prep, rough repairs, demolition, pavement patching, pruning, and debris removal. Operates and performs basic maintenance on hand tools and power equipment.
