| The College of Natural Sciences invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Biological Sciences at the Assistant Professor level to start in August 2027. The position requires a Ph.D. in Microbiology or a related field. We seek candidates with a focus on bacterial, archaeal, or protist microbiology and interests in areas including, but not limited to, diversity, ecology, symbioses, pathogenesis, or applied microbiology (food, industrial, biotechnology, etc.). The successful candidate will have a dedicated interest in undergraduate teaching excellence, preparation to teach general microbiology and microbial diversity, a record of publication, a demonstrated ability or potential to establish externally-funded research, and enthusiasm for mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in research. Postdoctoral and/or additional professional experience in the candidate’s area of specialty and evidence of teaching proficiency are preferred. Candidates whose teaching and research complement existing areas in the Department are also preferred. |
