The Department of American Indian Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach AIS 110: Decolonizing California: California Indian Resistance, Resurgence and Resilience. The course surveys California Indian resistance and resurgence. Provides a place-based approach to anti-racism and anti-colonial movements through community-centered learning and is a foundational overview of contemporary political, social, environmental issues, and representations through California Indian perspectives and knowledge. Subjects can include but are not limited to: tribal citizenship, self-determination, decolonization, sovereignty, and settler colonialism.

Classified as “Casual Worker/Model,” Art Models pose for the following Art Department classes on a regular basis and are integral to the curriculum for the following courses: ART 123 (Figure Drawing), 125A (Life Painting), and 180 (Figure Sculpture). There may also be supplemental sessions scheduled for Art 20A (Beginning Drawing) & 20B (Intermediate Drawing) or other art classes. Each of these classes meets for approximately six hours per week throughout the academic semester and are typically held in (2) two 170-minute sessions (such as 3:00-5:50 p.m.).
