Candidates for this position should possess good organizational and communication skills with a drive to enhance student success. This position will involve teaching laboratory, discussion, and/or lecture sections in any of our subject areas: General Biology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Organismal Biology, Ecology and Population Biology, or specialized topics in the discipline. Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree, or specialized certification for lecture and/or activity classes, in the field of Biology or a related discipline. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Preference will be given to those with experience teaching in the appropriate field and in fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term. We recommend submitting your application at least 4 months before the beginning of an academic term to be considered for available positions. Workload can be as little as one course up to a maximum of 15 WTU. |
