| The Mechanical Engineering Department at San José State University is pleased to announce a search for assistant professor (tenure track) beginning in July 2026. We are seeking candidates with a strong academic background in mechanical engineering and wildfire science. A key aspect of this position is that the faculty member will actively collaborate the SJSU Wildfire Interdisciplinary Research Center (WIRC, https://www.sjsu.edu/wildfire/, a National Science Foundation, Industry-University Cooperative Research Center) to seek funding and conduct research related to wildfire science and management. The center is dedicated to developing strategies/technologies and science-based policies to manage wildfires and to better understand how wildfires will impact people and resources in the future. Specific areas of research interest include, but are not limited to: numerical modeling/CFD reactive flow; wildfire dynamics; wildland-urban interface fire spread; AI/ML for predictive/modeling/risk management; and combustion dynamics of wildland and urban fuels. |

| The Department of Biology at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking part-time Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applications from qualified individuals for our San Bernardino Campus (SBC) and/or our Palm Desert Campus (PDC). Candidates for this position should be students in good standing at CSUSB and should possess good organizational and communication skills. The ISA positions may involve various duties including assisting Biology staff, faculty, and students; assisting Instructional Support Technicians in preparation for laboratory or other course needs as appropriate; and assisting faculty and course instructors in tasks such as grading, tutoring, and assessment. Candidates should have a commitment to teamwork and should work closely with the staff/faculty/instructors to which they are assigned.
This is a pool of students for the department to consider for ISAs, and all appointments are temporary. Decisions on assignment of ISAs are made on a rolling basis, normally between several months before and up to the beginning of the academic term. |
