The department is seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in any of our four programs: Environmental Health Science, Nutritional Science & Dietetics, Health Services Administration and Public Health. Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree, or specialized certification for activity classes, in a field of Health Science or related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. The Department invites applications from teacher-scholars whose research and teaching are situated at the intersection of family studies and child development. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in families with young children and who have the ability to teach courses in family studies, early childhood development, and early childhood education. Qualified candidates are those that possess the necessary content expertise in family studies, specialize in studying early childhood development, and engage in scholarship and teaching supporting historically underrepresented groups, diversity, equity, and/or social justice. The Department of Child, Adolescent, & Family Studies offers both theoretical and practical application courses, designed to help prepare graduates for direct service careers working with children of diverse backgrounds, to merge developmental knowledge with practical experience, and to prepare students for graduate training.
