The Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences is the chief academic, fiscal, and administrative officer of the school and reports to the Provost & VPAA. The Dean works closely with the other Deans and Associate/Assistant Vice Presidents in Academic Affairs, program Chairs and other Directors, other units within the Division of Academic Affairs, other Divisions within the University, and the administrative support staff within Academic Affairs.
The Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences oversees degree programs and supervises the faculty and program chairs within the Arts & Sciences. Cl Arts & Sciences portfolio consists of a large number of degree programs across the arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences fields. |

The Clinical Coordinator role includes responsibilities in clinical education and leadership, recordkeeping and communication, student advising, including overseeing clinical practicum placements for all students in the newly established online/hybrid Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program. The Clinical Coordinator will be primarily responsible for individualized placement of students into educational and healthcare practicum rotations and will work collaboratively with other program leadership and faculty to ensure high quality clinical education is provided throughout the curriculum.

Graduate assistant writing consultants conduct one-to-one writing conferences with undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff from all disciplines providing tutoring that requires knowledge and background beyond that generally possessed by undergraduate consultants. In these conferences, they function as writing consultants who write with, never for, other writers. They serve as the primary writing center resources for graduate students including work with graduate student writers on culminating experiences such as theses, projects, and dissertations. They develop and conduct in-class writing, citation, and peer review workshops. They also develop and present Writing Center and writing process informational workshops for writing classes across disciplines, in addition to presenting workshops and presentations for other campus programs as requested. |

EXCEL Academic Enrichment Counselor (Temporary)

EXCEL, a U.S. Department of Education Student Support Services Program, is a federal grant that provides low-income, first-generation college and disabled undergraduates with supportive academic services including academic advising, career and goal planning, multi-subject tutoring, scholarship guidance, graduate school advising, personal counseling and guidance on determining learning style and balancing academic and personal responsibilities. This position provides these services to a caseload of EXCEL students.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Affinity Programs, EXCEL and SEAS Engagement Initiatives, the EXCEL Academic Enrichment Counselor assists with student services work characterized by student advising and guidance in individual and group settings with an emphasis on undergraduate students. The incumbent assists students to resolve any problem(s) that affects their ability to be successful in their educational and career pursuits and make appropriate referrals to campus.
This is a grant-funded, full-time temporary three-year maximum position. The duration of the appointment cannot exceed three years from the date of hire. |
