| Under general supervision, the individual will provide comprehensive academic advising to undergraduates in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics with particular emphasis on assigned caseload of pre-majors. The individual will provide information about University policies, procedures and regulations to students; assist in the implementation and personal delivery of various academic advising programs/program information, workshops, and computer-based advising systems; and work on issues related to retention and progress of students. This individual will participate in multiple college and university student success programs including but not limited to Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration, CNSM SAFARI to Success, Science and Math Enrichment Program, Mandatory Freshman Advising, Freshmen Scholars Learning Community, and CNSM Early Warning Advising Programs. The incumbent will promote the principles of “growth mindset” model and metacognitive learning strategies. |
