| Under the supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Physician, the Phlebotomist/Clinical Laboratory Assistant supports laboratory operations in the WellCat Health Center. The incumbent performs phlebotomy and CLIA-waived laboratory testing to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical problems. This is a first-level laboratory classification requiring formal and on-the-job training. The incumbent must possess and maintain certification as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT-1) issued by the California Department of Public Health, which permits venipuncture and skin puncture. |
