The position provides expert leadership in developing, implementing, and overseeing biosafety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The incumbent conducts laboratory inspections and audits, and collaborates with researchers, administrators, and regulatory agencies to promote a safe and compliant research environment across all university facilities.

Senior Director of Maintenance and Operations San José
San José State University is seeking a Senior Director of Maintenance and Operations to join the Facilities Development and Operations team. This position provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight for all building, grounds, custodial, and maintenance operations across SJSU’s 167-acre, multi-site campus. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, construction management, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and at least ten years of supervisory experience, including five years in senior leadership within a large, complex facilities organization.

The College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences seeks a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative Associate Dean for Personnel and Academic Resources (ADPAR) to work collaboratively with the Dean, Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Student Success, budget analysts, contracts analysts and department chairs to develop and implement strategies that support faculty, staff, and student success across 12 departments, 18 programs, 350 faculty (tenure-line and lecturer), 40 staff and over 4600 majors. CLASS is the host of the CSU Summer Arts program and the ADPAR provides leadership for developing evidence-based strategies to pursue College-wide priorities outlined in the CLASS 2025-2030 Strategic Plan: Connect, Elevate, Educate.

The Groundsworker, assigned primarily to the Main Campus, supports Facilities Development & Operations by maintaining campus grounds and landscaped areas to ensure a safe, clean, and attractive environment. Under general supervision and lead work direction, the position performs planting, irrigation, mowing, trimming, pruning, fertilizing, debris removal, and recycling collection. The incumbent operates hand and power tools, assists with irrigation repair, tree work, athletic field preparation, and nursery functions, responds to routine and emergency service needs, maintains work records, and follows safety, sustainability, and customer service standards in support of the University’s mission.

Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean serves as the chief administrative and academic officer for the Kremen School of Education & Human Development. Currently, the Dean provides leadership to 63 full-time tenured/tenure-track faculty, 189 temporary faculty, and 21 staff. The Kremen School currently enrolls more than 2,400 students in undergraduate, credential, graduate, and doctoral programs; and it prepares more P-12 school teachers than any other public university in California. In addition to training the region’s teachers, the Kremen School trains ethically informed counselors and educational leaders, while providing professional support to the community and promoting applied research.
