Assistant Professor in Glass Chico
The Department of Art and Art History in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts at California State University, Chico is seeking an Assistant Tenure-Track Professor of Studio Art: Glass beginning August 19, 2026. The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a terminal degree (or equivalent experience) in Glass or related area, such as sculpture. Candidates nearing completion of the terminal degree may be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the degree must be met no later than the start date of the position. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to teach a wide variety of hot and cold glass-working techniques, including glassblowing and casting; a record of teaching experience at the college level, or equivalent, in glass or a related field; an exhibition record of professional accomplishments that reflect potential in the field; an active studio practice that engages contemporary issues; and evidence of commitment to or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment supportive of diverse student populations.
