The postdoctoral scientist will coordinate and execute the collection of sediment and seawater samples using SCUBA when necessary from aquaculture sites and paired reference sites lacking aquaculture farms. The postdoc will also lead the processing of samples in the laboratory to amplify and sequence DNA fragments, their analysis, and lead the writing of manuscripts for publishing results in peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate will work closely with the PIs, graduate and undergraduate students (serving as an additional mentor to student trainees), and interdisciplinary collaborators in the social sciences. The postdoc should show potential for leadership in the field of organismal interactions, ecology, and/or evolution, with the corresponding contemporary field and laboratory research skills.
