| The Department of American Indian Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach AIS 125: American Indian Film. The course explores decolonization of media and narrative forms, with a focus on film, television, and writing within American Indian and Indigenous contexts. Engages with and analyzes how Native American and Indigenous filmmakers reclaim and reshape their narratives through visual sovereignty. Aims to dismantle colonial viewpoints and promote an understanding of Indigenous self-determination and representation in media through a variety of filmic genres and media platforms. |

Salary is commensurate with credentials and experience. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.
