| The Liberal Studies Program at California State University San Bernardino is accepting applications on an on-going basis for our pool of part-time lecturers for upper and lower division Liberal Studies courses that address introduction, resources, portfolio development, and assessment of students preparing to pursue the multiple subjects teaching credential.
The Liberal Studies program is housed under the College of Arts and Letters and offers a rich Liberal Arts & Liberal Studies educational experience through selected courses from a wide range of academic disciplines. The major consists of a common core and a choice of several tracks designed to meet diverse student interests and needs not only for teaching in schools, but also for leadership in government, non-profit organizations, and business, and for graduate education in law, counseling, social work and services, public affairs and administration, and educational leadership. The Liberal Studies option provides excellent preparation for Elementary teaching while the Liberal Arts option provides well-rounded preparation for post-baccalaureate degrees and for employment in business, non-profit, and government organizations.

The course is a 3-unit class taught over the course of the semester. This course provides foundational skills and knowledge for academic and professional success in Public Health. It equips students with essential problem-solving and critical thinking skills required for application in academic and professional settings. It explores discipline-specific core concepts in Public Health, career pathways for the major, and resources available to Public Health majors on campus. | The City and Regional Planning Department at Cal Poly seeks a full-time, academic year, tenure-track Assistant Professor with demonstrated expertise in housing policy, planning, and development, with a focus on affordability and equity. We welcome candidates whose teaching, research, and professional work address the critical challenges of housing access, affordability, and sustainability across diverse communities.
We are particularly interested in candidates whose interdisciplinary approaches connect housing to related issues such as real estate development, transit-oriented development, climate resilience, community development, social justice, and neighborhood design. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor students, and engage in community-based and applied research that advances affordable housing solutions at regional and national scales.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strength in some of the following areas:
• Housing policy and finance
• Community and neighborhood planning
• Form-based and spatial planning
• Real estate development and feasibility analysis
• Quantitative or qualitative research methods
• Geospatial analysis and data visualization
• Service learning and community engagement
Teaching responsibilities include both studio (laboratory) and lecture courses. The faculty member will be expected to contribute to service learning, particularly through partnerships with Central California communities and the broader region.
