Program Coordinator Project IMPACT and Project Veterans Thrive (Temporary) East Bay
Project IMPACT (PI) and Project Veterans Thrive (PVT), both Student Support Services (SSS) programs, are funded through the TRIO division of the U.S. Department of Education. These SSS programs are five-year grants (2025-2030), separately renewable annually. They provide undergraduate students with disabilities (PI) and veteran students (PVT) non-mandated support services, including academic advising, career planning, subject specific tutoring, scholarship guidance, graduate school advising, personal wellness counseling, assistive technology training, academic and personal skills building workshops, and financial aid and personal finance education support. The purpose of these programs is to provide services to increase GPAs, and retention and graduation rates for each student population. Under the general direction of the Principal Investigator, the Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing and monitoring all mandated services under both programs, as well as providing direct service support in the above-referenced areas. The Program Coordinator will monitor the budget and ensure all program activities remain within grant mandated limits; ensure all policies and procedures are followed as outlined in Federal and State regulations, as well as University guidelines in daily operations and decisions; conduct workshops in the areas of academic skills building, personal finance, financial aid, wellness, and assistive technology as mandated by the approved grant; and maintain all data, records and reports required by the grant programs, including the Annual Performance Report, Annual Student Survey, and graduation/retention reports. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will be fully trained and attend updated sessions on grant reporting and documentation requirements under EDGAR, Americans with Disabilities Act, and other areas to ensure students have complete and full access to all University programmatic facilities and services. This is a full-time, temporary, grant-funded position, with the possibility of annual reappointment.
Project Veterans Thrive (TRIO Grant) - Academic Success Advisor (Temporary) East Bay
Project Veterans Thrive, a Student Support Services (SSS) Program, is funded through the TRIO division of the United States Department of Education. The SSS program is a five-year grant (2025-2030). Project Veterans Thrive provides undergraduate veteran students, and their dependents, non-mandated support services, including academic advising, career planning, subject specific tutoring, scholarship guidance, graduate school advising, personal wellness counseling, assistive technology training, academic and personal skills building workshops, financial aid support, and personal finance literacy. The intent of this program is to provide services to increase retention, student GPAs, and graduation rates of military-affiliated students. Project Veterans Thrive provides these enhanced academic support services to 120 students. The primary purpose of this position is to provide academic advising and personal wellness counseling to participating students. The Academic Success Advisor supports students in completing their post-secondary education by providing targeted advice related to class selection, the development of educational plans, and monitors the academic progress of students in the program. Furthermore, the Academic Success Advisor provides personal wellness counseling to support students in the development of non-cognitive skills including academic & realistic self-appraisal, growth mindset, locus of control, positive self-concept, motivation and long-term goal setting. This position will function as a team member of Project Veterans Thrive and will assist the Project Veterans Thrive Program Coordinator with carrying out the requirements of the grant.

This position reports to the Assoicate Vice President for Equity and Belonging & Dean of Students as part of the Enrollment Management & Student Affairs Division. The Director works independently to lead the Student Health Services department. The incumbent supervises all student health staff and clinic schedules; and oversees day-to-day operations of Student Health Services. The incumbent will also perform crisis intervention and consultation in the event of an emergency. In collaboration with Health Promotions and Counseling Services, the Director ensures the design and implementation of health and wellness outreach and intervention programs and services, and serves as a liaison to various campus entities. The incumbent works collaboratively with the psychiatrist and primary care physicians in a multidisciplinary approach to develop strategies that help students achieve and maintain optimal mental and physical health. The incumbent may contribute to the ongoing training of all clinical and medical staff. The Director also provides indirect oversight for the administrative staff supporting the Student Health Services. The Director develops department programs and services to promote a high level of student utilization of Student Health services. Additionally, the Director participates in and makes recommendations on the recruitment, selection and training of new employees, crisis management, administrative activities, and campus and external communications and other related activities. Incumbent has specific responsibilities for overseeing department budget management/ reconciliation and collaborative budgetary decisions regarding the Student Health facility. The incumbent will assess department needs, conduct department organization and planning and in consultation with the Office of Human Resources, will perform personnel related tasks. Participates in on-call emergency response and preparedness as needed.
