Confidential Campus Advocate

| The Confidential Advocate provides confidential and privileged in-person crisis counseling, advice, assistance, case management services, accompaniment, advocacy, resource and referrals on behalf of survivors of sexual violence, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking. Advocacy includes assistance in coordinating services with California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) resources and, when applicable, with local agencies on behalf of the individual including areas of Student Services, the local campus police department, coordination of legal advocacy, medical advocacy and other assistance/University services as needed.
The incumbent will develop and maintain referral protocols for incidents of sexual violence, and provide trainings to the campus community about how to refer to both on and off campus resources. They develop and maintain a network of resources including emergency shelters, legal support, and mental health services for survivors. This individual will also provide training and consultation to staff and faculty members at the University, and work with campus administrators to create systems that are trauma-informed and survivor-centered.
The incumbent will also develop and lead prevention, education and awareness programs related to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking to the campus community with the goal of reducing these crimes. They will recruit and train student leaders to develop a peer advocate program for violence prevention on campus.
Due to the nature of the work, additional or irregular hours such as early morning, evening hours, and weekends is required, as well as occasional evening hours and travel to CSUEB’s Concord campus.

Natural Sciences Hub Office Assistant

| The Natural Sciences Hub Office Assistant will serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking service from the departmental office, whether by walk-in, real-time telephone inquiry, telephone messaging system inquiry, email inquiry, or departmental webpage inquiry. A decision in each case will be made on the fly to optimize service to the person making the inquiry. This may involve direct action by this position, Natural Sciences Hub Analyst or Office Manager, referral to the appropriate department chair or a faculty member or teaching associate, or referral to another university office.
When not directly involved with inquiries as described above, the individual will help with any tasks surrounding student assistance and course delivery and help with overflow work as needed by the Natural Sciences Hub Analyst and Office Manager. It should be carefully noted that this will require significant multi-tasking, working these regular, recurring tasks with inquiries.
