| The Department of Kinesiology at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications for a tenure-track position in Adapted Physical Education (APE) and Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) at the assistant professor level, effective August 2027. The successful candidate will focus on APE courses but may also teach PETE and Kinesiology core courses, including professional preparation activity courses. Our students choose between four concentrations: Allied Health Professions, Exercise Science, Health Promotion, and Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education. Our faculty are actively involved in research and in professional organizations in their respective fields. The successful candidate will join an intellectually stimulating and innovative academic environment that embraces diversity. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Kinesiology, maintain a robust and ongoing research agenda, and mentor students at the undergraduate level. The candidate will also advise students and perform career-related service roles on and off campus for the department, college, university and
professional societies. Furthermore, the candidate will also lead activities that will advance scholarly excellence in Kinesiology. An earned degrees in Kinesiology/Physical Education with APE and PETE specializations or related areas are required. A documented commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service is expected. We strongly encourage members of underrepresented groups to apply. Adapted Physical Education specialization as well as college and K-12 teaching experience. An ability to develop a profile of extramural funding is also desirable.
