Major Duties

Under general supervision of the Director of University Marketing, the Web Producer creates online content in compliance with W3C Guidelines and the Rehabilitation Act 508 section 1194.2 using emerging tools to meet the diverse communication needs of the university. The incumbent consults and communicates effectively with faculty, staff and students to interpret and translate their needs into effective visual formats.

  • Tracks and communicates project status to clients and managers through regular meetings, phone, email and a project management database, provides Section 508 accessible web materials production training for the university community, and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides services to the user community to ensure system/data access, and optimal WCMS system performance.
  • Develops multimedia materials that include such elements as moving video, sound, and text for use in A/V presentations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.
  • Certification training and applied experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis.
  • Equivalent to six months of full-time computing experience which includes knowledge of relevant hardware, software, maintenance, and user support. 


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • General working knowledge of common software application packages, equipment platforms, reference database systems and sources, and training methods and a basic understanding of networks, data communication, and multimedia systems. Functional knowledge of Section 508, W3C, XHTML, XML, HTML5, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and some programming language desirable.
  • Ability and specialized skills to: recognize technology problems and offer reasonable solutions; solve common problems or problems which have precedent solutions; organize projects and work within timeframes and deadlines; effectively present ideas, explain problems, and recommend solutions orally and in writing.
  • Ability to actively participate as a team member by meeting assigned deadlines, listening to ideas of others, and acting on expressed needs; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate competence in applying technical judgement to standard and nonstandard applications and systems, developing practicable and thorough solutions, and using effective communication and listening skills.


Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
  • Classification/grade: 0420 / Information Technology Consultant I / 1
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $3470 - $4646, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $3470 - $6681 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.
  • REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period. 
  • The position is currently hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
