Major Duties

Under general supervision, the Accountant prepares all billing and manages accounts receivable including collection efforts for the Corporation; performs account analysis and reports to support financial reporting, budget update and year-end audits; utilizes CFS to provide general accounting support by completing daily and monthly account reconciliations; compiles and analyzes financial information; posts cash transaction journal entries, upload check received to OnBase and route for coding; participates in the monthly closing including creating and uploading Journal Entries, prepares month-end reports, and maintains monthly recurring Journal Entries, runs various queries in CFS and LAD; oversees Agency and Endowment funds, and answers questions regarding the funds; processes monthly Licensing activity report and performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Graduation from a four year university or college with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Minimum of two years accounting receivable/billing experience required. Experience with PeopleSoft/Oracle mainframe accounting systems preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); office methods and procedures; and statistical and mathematical presentation of data. Ability to: interpret and follow instructions and policy guidelines; analyze financial and statistical data and draw conclusions; utilize problem solving techniques; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and communicate effectively with others inside and outside the unit, including conveying technical information to non- Accountants.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).

 

The anticipated hiring range: $22.25 - $31.25

THE SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO PASS A THOROUGH DEPARTMENT (BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION AND LIVE SCAN).
