Major Duties

Perform post-award administration and financial support services for designated Principal Investigators (PIs) in customer-focused

awards negotiation, project invoicing & expenditure reconciliation, and cost center review, and grant closeout

activity in compliance with OMB Circulars and sponsor policies. Provide support develop, establish, and maintain policies

and procedures that maximize the opportunities for support of PIs, create and environment conducive to such scholarship,

and assist CSUN with minimizing its compliance risks associated with sponsored projects. Perform cross-over functions of

the post-award administration in particular related to administrative compliance issues, such as sub-recipient monitoring,

cost sharing, financial/asset management, effort reporting, eTravel, and other occasional reporting responsibilities.

Minimize compliance risks associated with sponsored projects. Assist during audits. Conduct cash drawdowns. Generate

and distribute various reports.

 

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree and an applicable combination of education and experience in a data-entry-focused role are

required. Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, or Finance preferred.

Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, including knowledge of financial record-keeping methods,

procedures, and practices. Ability to review financial documents for accuracy, completeness, validity, and adherence to

standards.

Excellent attention to detail, particularly with regard to numbers. Highly organized and reliable.

Excellent interpersonal skills to optimize positive support to faculty while ensuring compliance.

Ability to work in a team environment and motivate team members by example.

The ability to effectively communicate at all levels is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are

mandatory.

Service-focused, including timely and patient response in project management and action-oriented approach to problem

solving.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, operate with integrity and encourage trust.

Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

General comfort with technology and ability to learn new systems quickly. Comfort with navigating and retrieving

information from the Internet.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).

 

The anticipated hiring range: $24.00 Per Hour

THE SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO PASS A THOROUGH DEPARTMENT (BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION AND LIVE SCAN).

 

Per CSUN/TUC Mandate, the candidate will be required to show proof of COVID 19 vaccination including booster.
