Duties and Responsibilities:

Working under the manager's direction, the Family Support Provider will assist participants in Early Start and school-age programs, including daily and responsive contact both in person and virtually (Zoom/Teams/email/social media platforms) with parents and professionals, efficient data entry, conducting parent education activities, and tasks/projects as assigned.

Positions are part-time or full-time (15 to 30 hours per week), with occasional weekend and evening hours for outreach events or activities. Positions available:

  • Two positions in the San Fernando Valley (Chatsworth)

Contacts with parents and professionals via phone, in-person, email, Zoom, and social media platforms Conducting workshops, and trainings; creating resource materials Conducting support groups, outreach, and community events Attending staff meetings, advisory board meetings, and timely completion of data input Engaging in professional development, including attending trainings and occasional conferences as well as attendance at staff meetings, staff development days/retreats, and transition fairs, i.e., All Abilities Resource Fairs

 

Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to collaborate well with others and function as part of a team
  • Affinity for interacting with families seeking referrals and support for their children who have disabilities or at risk for disability services
  • Responsive customer service to inquiries and requests for assistance by phone, email, and/or social media platforms (FFRC YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook)
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • General knowledge of special education services
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, and database management systems)

Desirable:

  • Bilingual
  • A parent or close relative of a child with a disability

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).

The anticipated hiring range: $18.00 - $22.00/hour

Full Pay range: $18.00 - $22.00/hour

Time Base: Full/Part-Time

Benefits (Full-Time Only): Medical, Dental, Vision, 403 (b), Life, AD&D, Flex Spending
