Major Duties

Under general supervision, the IRB/IACUC Regulatory Analyst reviews applications and protocols for the use of humans and/or animals in research. The incumbent conducts regulatory determinations of protocols, and monitors investigator compliance with IRB recommendations and contingent approvals.

  • Coordinates and meets with the institute 's IRB and IACUC and conducts semi-annual inspections of campus animal research facilities.
  • Coordinates post-approval monitoring and compliance; maintains documents and records consistent with regulatory requirements and campus policies and is responsible for registrations and reports to governing agencies of IRB and IACUC.
  • Provides training, guidance and outreach on human subjects research and use of animals in research to faculty, staff and students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field.
  • Equivalent to two (2) years of full-time, technical, analytical, or administrative experience.
  • Additional experience in job-related field may be substituted for required education, on a year-for-year basis.
  • Prior experience with humans or animals in research or awareness of IRB/IACUC regulations, policies, and practices is preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of IRB and IACUC protocols and current knowledge of Federal, State and Local governmental agency compliance regulations and requirements related to use of human subjects and animals in research and effectively communicates relevant information to IRB and IACUC members and the campus community.
  • Ability and specialized skills to: interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures; perform basic research and statistical analysis; analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistics.
  • Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty; communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Proficient in using standard office and financial software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) maintains.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
  • Classification: Admin Analyst/Spclst  / 1038 / grade 1
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $3879 - $5833 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $3879 - $7488 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.  
  • This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period. 
  • The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
