One or more temporary, part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2024, and/or Spring Semester 2025.
Lecturers may be needed for one or more of the following courses: Introduction to Sociology, Sociological Theory, Qualitative Analysis & Field Research, Social Psychology, Socialization, Sociology of Education, Social Inequality, Environmental Sociology, Sociology of Sport, Medical Sociology, Sociology of Work and Social Casework. Other courses may also be offered.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.
Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, San Bernardino may include courses at the Palm Desert Campus. The policy and expectation of the California State University is that all faculty members will perform all of their duties within the state of California. |

Provide CVWBC consulting, training, and information services in the region
to pre-venture, start-up, small and medium size businesses. Maintain client
database by preparing detailed written assessment and make recommendations
for improvements. Keep abreast of business trends, techniques, and processes.
Work collaboratively with peers and the business community to expand
expertise. Community outreach responsibilities will include public
presentations to key stakeholders and service on appropriate boards and
committees related to economic development. Complete all forms and
maintain client files as required by the SBA. Document information,
assistance, and outcomes of sessions with clients related to consulting and
training activities performed by the consultant. Provide Center with timely
reports related to milestones and success stories of client’s economic
outcomes. Individual must conduct own lead generation through creating
partnerships with cities, chambers of commerce, business associations, etc to
find clients. |

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications from a diverse group of qualified applicants for a new department of physics and astronomy chair to begin August 2024. This is a full time tenure track position with a half-time chair appointment. The ideal candidate will be an experienced faculty member with demonstrated leadership and administrative skills, an established record of scholarly research, and evidence of commitment to student success. The Chair is expected to provide leadership in shaping and facilitating the future of the department including faculty and staff development, faculty mentoring, strategic planning, and student recruitment and success initiatives. The Department Chair will serve in a leadership capacity in support of the mission of the College of Natural Sciences. They will provide academic and administrative leadership and facilitate the orderly conduct of the affairs of the Department and the College. Preference will be given to candidates with familiarity in navigating large public education systems, such as the CSU. The Department offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Physics, with minors in astronomy and applied physics, and is currently in the planning stages for an interdisciplinary M.S. degree in Materials Science, which is associated with the Center for Advanced Functional Materials(https://materials.csusb.edu). Preference will be given to candidates who are able to teach courses within the full range of undergraduate physics courses and graduate courses in support of the Master Program in material sciences. The successful candidate will join an intellectually stimulating and innovative academic environment that embraces diversity. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from all groups historically underrepresented in Physics/Astronomy and STEM fields, including intersections across multiple groups. |
