Black Unity Center Student Engagement Specialist (Student Services Professional III, Range 1) - Community Inclusion San Francisco
The Black Unity Center (BUC) Student Engagement Specialist serves and advocates for students of Black and African descent in order to increase access to and success in higher education. The engagement specialist is responsible for providing student advising, support, mentoring, coaching, guidance and appropriate referral for students of Black and African descent at San Francisco State University (SFSU) in alignment with student development and student learning models that incorporate the experiences and realities of historically marginalized students.
Director of Basic Needs (Administrator II, Range 1) - Basic Needs San Francisco
Under the administrative direction of the Associate Dean of Students, in the Division of Student Life, the Director of Food+Shelter+Success (Basic Needs) supports the academic mission of the University by providing vision, leadership, and strategic direction for a wide array of culturally competent basic needs programs, services, and initiatives. Basic Needs programs enhance students’ capacities to be active, engaged, and successful learners, and include the development, delivery, and evaluation of systemic and sustainable interventions that ameliorate basic needs in a manner that promotes dignity and minimizes marginalization. The Director provides supervision and coaching to a team of four professional staff, numerous undergraduate/graduate interns and volunteers, manages an annual budget of $1.5 million, and works closely with the Dean of Students Office, the Division of Student Life managers, and stakeholders across Student Affairs & Enrollment Management and the University. The Director serves as a key member of the divisional and Cabinet area leadership groups, participating in strategic planning, outcomes assessment, programs and policy development, and decision making. The Director oversees the development and implementation of a comprehensive array of evidence-based basic needs and economic stability programs, designed for 21st century students on an urban campus that serves a high proportion of 1st generation, low-income, and underrepresented racial minority students. The Director is responsible for the research and preparation of grant porposals to secure resources that address the basic needs of our ethnically and culturally diverse student population. The Director must incorporate educational equity, social justice, cultural humility, and diversity concepts and principles into all work.
Clinical Placement Coordinator - (Student Services Professional III, Range 1) - Graduate College of Education San Francisco
The SSPIII position under the general supervision of the department chair(s) serves in the role of the Clinical Placement Coordinator in the Departments of Secondary and Elementary Education. The role includes several related, but distinct areas that include student fieldwork placement, student teacher advising, intern teacher advising, university supervisor training and assignment, and school district liaison. The work is essential to the success of each student’s preparation, and involves building positive working relationships with individual students, university faculty/staff, and school and district level administrators across multiple organizational lines. The Clinical Placement Coordinator also has an important role in ensuring that the credential programs meet the standards of the CTC for clinical practice, and supports accreditation activities. The Clinical Placement Coordinator maintains accurate records and generates annual reports for the dean and chairs.
Academic Advisor/Graduation Specialist - (Student Services Professional II, Range I) - College Advising San Francisco
The Academic Advisor/Graduation Specialist provides consistent, accurate, moderately complex, general academic advising services to undergraduate students. This position works on a college advising team (Lam Family College of Business, College of Ethnic Studies, College of Liberal and Creative Arts, College of Health and Social Sciences, College of Science and Engineering, or the Graduate College of Education) within the Undergraduate Advising Center and advises students from their third year through graduation. The incumbent collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators to deliver advising services with a focus on upper division students and those who are close to graduation. Working under general supervision, the Academic Advisor/Graduation Specialist provides advising focused on setting goals to facilitate students’ success, persistence, and degree completion in a timely manner. The Academic Advisor/Graduation Specialist also advises at new student orientations.
CPaGE Director of Enrollment Services (Administrator I, Range 1) - College of Professional & Global Education San Francisco
This position reports to the CPaGE Assistant Dean. The Director of Enrollment Services (DES) is responsible for the development and supervision of the enrollment team staff and the development of a positive and productive team culture, the optimal operations of the College’s enrollment and registration systems, the provision of high-quality customer service to students and internal and external partners, the coordination of the College’s enrollment and registration hardware, software and information technology systems and the effective tracking and reporting of enrollment data as needed. The DES will provide leadership to the College and unit with respect to increasing overall enrollments and streamlining operations and processes on an ongoing basis. The DES will keep current with best practices in the field and develop a strategic plan for the unit.

The Director of IT Business Operations provides strategic and operational oversight for the administrative and financial functions that support Network IT. This a pool of part-time accompanists for the School of Theatre and Dance to draw on as necessary. All appointments made from this recruitment are temporary part-time assignments. An individual hired out of the temp pool would be appointed only through the fiscal year and need to be reappointed on a year by year basis.
