Lecturer Pool - Management AY 26/27 San Marcos
The Department of Management at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an on-going basis for our pool of part-time lecturers. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool ad will only be good for the current academic year. This pool will be closed effective May 31st. If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15th.
Lecturer BUS 300 - Business Professional Development (Fall 2026) San Marcos
The College of Business Administration at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Academic Year 2026/27 to teach Business 300: Business Professional Development, one of our Signature Programs. This required 2-unit course enhances students' professional skills by teaching interactive lessons pertaining to career exploration, soft skill development (i.e., employability skills), and job search strategies.
Lecturer - SOC 105: Introduction to Justice Studies (Fall 2026) San Marcos
The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach SOC 105: Introduction to Justice Studies. The course is an introduction to the interdisciplinary field of Justice Studies. Explores economic, social, and criminal justice issues by means of sociological, philosophical, and legal perspectives and methodologies. Students will critically assess the obstacles and opportunities central to the pursuit of justice in the United States and abroad. Topics of analysis may include formal legal systems, institutionalization of injustice, environmental justice, and genocide.
Lecturer - SOC 315: Gender in Society (Fall 2026) San Marcos
The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach SOC 315: Gender in Society. The course is a consideration of the development of gender identity and gender socialization in a social context; how notions of femininity and masculinity are shaped within various social institutions-family, work, media, education; and how these social definitions change across the life course. Emphasis on how gender relations vary across communities-race and ethnicity, sexuality, age, socioeconomic class, and nationality.

The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach SOC 320: Sociological Theory. The course is an exploration of the nature of theory in sociology, and an analysis of selected social theorists.
Lecturer - MDIA 403: Children's Media (Fall 2026) San Marcos
The Department of Communication and Media Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach MDIA 304 - Global Media. The course is an exploration of “globalization” as an historical - as well as a contested - process, and of cultural, social, technological economic, and political processes at work in “media globalization.” Case studies link discussions of specific forms (i.e., music, radio, video, journalism, internet, mobile phones, broadcast satellites, and points of origin) to old and new audiences. These case studies are contextualized in a consideration of specific communication processes associated with trade, war, community development, policy making and reform, and privatization/deregulation.
Equipment Technician, College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics San Marcos
Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean, the purpose of the Equipment Technician is to provide skilled repair of minor equipment, maintenance and minor modification of standard and specialty laboratory equipment to the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry (80%) and other science and engineering departments (20%) in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Lecturer - PSYC 331: Infancy and Childhood (Fall 2026) San Marcos
The Department of Psychology at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach PSYC 331: Infancy and Childhood. Salary is commensurate with credential and experience. The course focuses on theories, methods, and research in developmental psychology from conception through childhood.  Includes biological, genetic, and physical development; social-emotional development, cognitive and language development; perception and brain development.  Analysis and synthesis of scholarly articles are integral parts of this course. Enrollment restricted to PSYC majors and minors, and CHAD majors only, or consent of instructor.
