Lecturer-HIST 101: World Civilization to 1500 (Fall 2026) San Marcos
The Department of History at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026, to teach HIST 101: World Civilization to 1500. The course surveys the history of the world from the early river-valley civilizations to the year 1500. Emphasis upon Afro-Eurasia and the Americas. Subject matter includes politics, society, religion, and global interactions.
Lecturer Pool - Finance AY 26/27 San Marcos
The Department of Finance at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an on-going basis for our pool of part-time lecturers. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool ad will only be good for the current academic year. This pool will be closed effective May 31st. If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15th.

The College of Business Administration at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Academic Year 2026/27 to teach Business 300: Business Professional Development, one of our Signature Programs. This required 2-unit course enhances students' professional skills by teaching interactive lessons pertaining to career exploration, soft skill development (i.e., employability skills), and job search strategies.
Lecturer - SOC 105: Introduction to Justice Studies (Fall 2026) San Marcos
The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach SOC 105: Introduction to Justice Studies. The course is an introduction to the interdisciplinary field of Justice Studies. Explores economic, social, and criminal justice issues by means of sociological, philosophical, and legal perspectives and methodologies. Students will critically assess the obstacles and opportunities central to the pursuit of justice in the United States and abroad. Topics of analysis may include formal legal systems, institutionalization of injustice, environmental justice, and genocide.
