We are seeking a project engineer to provide technical leadership and direct technical contribution for multiple projects related to aircraft, ground support equipment, and vehicle sustaining engineering. Under the guidance of a senior engineer, this role will support and lead research, evaluation, reverse engineering, design, and test/validation of hardware for aircraft, support equipment, and vehicles.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven, an excellent communicator, have a strong background in project engineering in defense or commercial spaces. The position will support multiple clients, primarily government.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Systems, or related technical field)
• Understanding of aircraft or complex systems design and operation
• Ability to create, read and interpret models, technical drawings, schematics, and computer generated reports
• Ability to develop work breakdown structures for complex problems based on customer pain points with little supporting documentation
• Ability to determine relevant components/data from existing sources and execute component and system level data analysis and provide recommendations
• Proficient in 3D CAD modeling software
• Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
• Effective written communication skills
• Working knowledge in Excel and other MS Office Suite programs.
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Self-motivated & organized with ability to work with minimal supervision
• Effective interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated at all levels of an organization
• Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills
• Coding and scripting (e.g. Matlab, LaTeX, VBA, Java. etc.)
• Demonstrated successful experience in any or all of the following:
 Model based system engineering (MBSE)
 Applying Cameo or similar MBSE-enabling toolset
 Developing solutions architectures
 Requirements derivation, flow down, & management
• Familiar with various manufacturing processes such as casting, NC machining, forging, heat treat and additive manufacturing for metals and/or plastics.
