Position Summary: This is a full time benefit eligible position in the Office of Human Resources working 35 hours per week. Under the supervision of the Director of Employee Benefits and Wellness, the Wellness Coordinator is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive employee wellness program aimed at improving the health, well-being, and quality of life for the university’s faculty and staff. This role serves as the primary liaison between Human Resources, external wellness vendors, and the campus community. The Coordinator will drive engagement through evidence-based programming that addresses physical, mental, financial, and social well-being, fostering a campus culture that supports healthy lifestyle choices and work-life balance. This position will also coordinate all Workers' Compensation claims.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Public Health, Exercise Science, Corporate Wellness, Human Resources or a closely related field.
Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in health promotion, wellness program coordination or related human resource function.
Understanding of the dimensions of wellness (physical, emotional, occupational, etc.), wellness trends, best practices and behavior change theories.
Strong public speaking and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex health information to a variety of audiences.
Proven ability to organize large-scale events, manage logistics, and coordinate multiple schedules simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience using digital platforms for virtual programming (Zoom/Teams).

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, or Higher Education Administration.
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES).
Certified Wellness Practitioner (CWP) through the National Wellness Institute.
Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).
Previous experience working specifically in a higher education setting or with large employee populations.
Experience identifying grant opportunities and writing proposals to secure funding for wellness initiatives.
Experience with survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey) and basic data visualization tools.
Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in working with Workers’ Compensation claims.
Demonstrated success with adhering to deadlines.
Successful experience working both independently and as part of a team.
