The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is seeking a highly motivated and highly talented engineer/scientist to manage and perform in-situ process monitoring research in metal additive manufacturing (AM) onsite at Wright Patterson Air Force Base - AFRL. This work will drive novel research focused on in-situ process monitoring, data collection, and analysis of metallic additive manufacturing via Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF). This position will work with AFRL engineers/scientists to perform research designed to advance current understanding of the effects of laser manufacturing processes on materials through sensor development, implementation, data collection, and data analysis.
