Position Summary:      

Perform original and copy cataloging tasks of rare books and materials in Hebrew and European languages. Use bibliographic utilities, such as OCLC, and authority records to compose accurate descriptive data. Input records into the cataloging module of Virtua, the libraries' integrated library system. 

This position is donor-funded and expected to last for 6 to 10 months depending on the number of hours worked each week. The position may be renewed if there is additional funding.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform original and copy cataloging of Hebrew and European-language materials under the supervision of the Head of Metadata Services.
  • Use bibliographic utilities and authority records to create accurate descriptive data.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience & Educational Background:

  • 4 years of library experience preferred.
  • ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Reading proficiency in Hebrew and European languages required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.

Salary Range:

1199 Librarian Rate

$30.02 - $41.42 per hour
