Stern College for Women at Yeshiva University invites applications for a tenure-track Associate or Full Professor of Jewish Studies to serve as the next Chair of the Rebecca Ivry Department of Jewish Studies. The position is responsible for overseeing the Jewish Studies major and minor, as well as the Jewish Studies curriculum that is taken by every student at Yeshiva University’s undergraduate women’s campus, and ensuring that they align with and contribute to the mission of Yeshiva University. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader who will guide the department in achieving its multifaceted mission: to instill skills and knowledge of Torah/Jewish Studies in our students, to inspire a sense of purpose in them, and to foster a love of learning that will stay with them throughout their lives. A postdoctoral researcher position is available in the Oliveira Lab in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Yeshiva University’s Beren Campus in midtown Manhattan. The expected start date is flexible, though preferably on or around December 1, 2025. The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year based on performance and professional conduct. The successful candidate will work on characterizing and engineering a novel group of calcium-responsive photoproteins from bioluminescent marine invertebrates, as well as developing calcium sensors. Multiple research directions are available, depending on the candidate’s expertise and interests.
