Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm 

Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 14 with a minimum of  $49,575. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy,  and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of moderate difficulty by developing and promoting non-credit professional learning courses and programs that lead to industry recognized credentials. Work is distinguished by the ability to generate revenue and minimize operating expenses to assist with achieving the operating parameters of the department. General supervision is received by the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in related field with  experience in the development short-term, vocational courses or courses that lead to credential attainment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  2. Considerable skills in financial and budget management.
  3. Considerable skills in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access and Publisher
  4. Considerable skill in organizing work to meet established deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  5. Working skill in interpersonal interaction to be applied to a variety of individuals with differing education, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
  6. Working skills in customer service, verbal and written communication.
  7. Working skill in operating a personal computer, applicable software and peripheral equipment as well as learning and adapting to new and updated programs and technology.
  8. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when required by the department’s needs.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. A Master’s degree or equivalent.
  2. Considerable skills designing programs that are accredited by a credentialing body.

Essential Duties:

  1. Research, coordinate and recommend professional learning courses that result in students either obtaining or preparing them for industry-recognized credentials. Strong emphasis will be placed on WIOA eligible courses to implement.
  2. Develop and maintain all proper documents to ensure Elgin Community College obtains or maintains proper training provider rights for different credentialing agencies as well as WIOA and ICCB 1.6 approval process.  This requires working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Recruit and interview instructors to teach courses and programs.
  4. In partnership with the director, they develop tactical and strategic marketing and promotion of programs.
  5. Maintain proper records for courses tied to credentials and monitor student outcomes as required
  6. Work with different funders or grants such as WIOA to ensure students can obtain funding for the course and the funder receives all necessary paperwork.
  7. Generate revenue and minimize operating expenses to help achieve the department’s operating parameters.
  8. Collect course or program evaluation data, generate course/instructor assessment and evaluation reports and make recommendations for improvements.
  9. Maintains required training, licensure and/or certifications
  10. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to applicable privacy laws
  11. Demonstrates sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.
  12. Maintains an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.
  13. Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality
