Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM

Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 17 with a minimum of $76,725 and a mid-point of $102,300. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification is responsible for performing work of considerable difficulty providing operational support to the Division including coordination of assessment processes and completion of faculty observation. Work is distinguished by the ability to represent the Dean and the Division as needed. Direction is received from the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Master’s degree required, preferably in a discipline represented within the division including Art, Communication/Graphic Design, History, Humanities, Languages, Music, Political Science, or Theatre, with a minimum two years of administrative experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  2. Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
  3. Considerable knowledge of faculty observation practices and procedures.
  4. Considerable knowledge of articulation, assessment, and accreditation guidelines and processes.
  5. Considerable knowledge of instructional technology, instructional design, and inclusive teaching strategies.
  6. Considerable knowledge of higher education planning and budgeting
  7. Considerable knowledge of inclusive pedagogical strategies.
  8. Considerable knowledge of strategies and approaches for assessing student learning.
  9. Comprehensive oral and written communication skills.
  10. Considerable skill in communicating and collaborating with administrators, faculty, staff, and community partners.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Administrative experience within a community college
  2. College-level teaching experience

Essential Duties:

  1. Assist Dean in conducting faculty evaluation according to established collective bargaining cycles and processes, which includes discussions with faculty, observing instruction, and developing professional development plans. 
  2. Assist Dean with the coordination of divisional course and program assessment processes.  Provide support for faculty as needed which may include assisting with documentation, data collection, accessing college resources, etc. Ensure accountability and collaborate with faculty to ensure high-quality assessments are conducted. 
  3. Monitor division data to identify opportunities to strengthen student learning and/or teaching. Examples of data regularly reviewed include, but are not limited to, student success metrics, enrollment trends, and curriculum currency. Ensure data dissemination and discussions with faculty, staff, and other relevant personnel.
  4. Support divisional instructional coordinators in completion of assigned responsibilities and ensuring completion of course assessment and/or program review actions.
  5. Assist with class schedule development; actively monitor enrollments and recommend adjustments to ensure student access and compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.
  6. Assist in divisional planning and budget preparation. Supervise student workers.
  7. Assist Dean in addressing personnel and student issues as well as contract and procedural compliance
  8. Maintains required training, licensure and/or certifications
  9. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to applicable privacy laws
  10. Demonstrates sensitivity, understanding and respect for diverse populations within the workplace.
  11. Maintains an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.
  12.  Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality
  13. Available to respond to internal and external customers, either in person or over the phone, during scheduled business hours
  14. Demonstrates independent judgment and discretion in making position-related decisions.

Other Duties:

  1. Represent LVPA and serve on various committees, as requested.
  2. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
  3. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
