This position is a grade 14 with a minimum of $49,575 and a mid-point of $66,100. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:
|
Supervise, assign, review, and participate in the work of custodial staff engaged in a variety of manual tasks in the cleaning and general upkeep of assigned buildings, facilities and adjacent areas, ensuring custodial service is effectively provided.
|
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
|
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Three years of experience in the custodial profession.
- Three years of supervisory experience, including but not limited to: principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
- Knowledge of custodial activities, training, supplies and equipment.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices; knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations; principles and procedures of record keeping.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills; ability to resolve conflicts.
- Customer service principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Essential Duties:
|
- Act as a working supervisor and assume responsibility for the cleanliness of buildings, facilities and other assigned areas.
- Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of custodial staff engaged in a variety of manual tasks in the cleaning and general upkeep of assigned buildings, facilities and adjacent areas.
- Participate in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures; participate in the implementation of approved policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Participate in the selection of assigned staff; provides or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies; implements discipline procedures.
- Receive, distribute and maintain inventory control of custodial supplies.
- Inspect facilities and buildings on a routine basis to monitor quality; inspects and evaluate work in progress and upon completion to assure that repairs, maintenance, and project activities are performed; identify problem areas and takes corrective action.
- Monitor work sites and activities and ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures; respond to and resolves complex work related or equipment operating problems.
- Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner.
- Lock, unlock, and provide security of buildings and facilities.
- Direct the setup and arrangement of facilities for meetings.

Other Duties:
|
- Assist with recycling projects due to building renovation and new construction.
- Conduct and attend meetings, trainings and other functions as required; maintain awareness of new trends and developments; incorporate new developments as appropriate.
- Assist management in planning of in-service meetings.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
