Film History Adjunct Faculty - Spring 2025	Elgin, IL
Elgin Community College seeks an adjunct instructor to teach multiple film history and film appreciation survey courses that are offered through our Art History department, which examine historically significant films in relation to world events and serve to deepen the appreciation of film as an art form. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in film or media studies or a master’s degree in another discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in film or media studies coursework. Interested faculty must have prior experience and availability to teach in-person at the Elgin, Illinois campus. The successful candidate is expected to 1) design lessons/units that promote critical thinking through student-content and student-to-student learning activities, 2) foster a supportive learning environment for students by employing evidence-based instructional strategies, 3) demonstrate commitment to student learning and teaching effectiveness and 4) apply culturally relevant teaching practices.

Full-time position providing proctoring of tests to students. Work is distinguished by the ability to provide support to students during testing, maintaining appropriate records and performing clerical duties for the department.
