3D Studio Art Adjunct Faculty (Sculpture) Spring 2025

| Elgin Community College seeks adjunct instructors to teach 3D studio art courses. The courses which may be assigned include ART-103 Sculpture I, ART-104 Sculpture II, and ART-110 Design II (3D Foundations). These courses provide foundational and more advanced techniques in using three-dimensional media as well as digital tools. The ideal candidate will have a Master of Fine Arts degree in 3-dimensionsal art or a master’s degree in another discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in a 3D art discipline (e.g. sculpture, 3D design, ceramics, metalsmith) including demonstrated competencies computer-aided modeling software and equipment. Professional experience including professional exhibitions, residencies, portfolios or other professional work may be considered in addition.
The successful candidate is expected to 1) design lessons/units that promote critical thinking through student-content and student-to-student learning activities, 2) foster a supportive learning environment for students by employing evidence-based instructional strategies, and 3) demonstrate commitment to student learning and teaching effectiveness |
