Department Overview:
Moho Gators is a recreational summer swim team that fosters team camaraderie by providing kids 18 and under the opportunity to swim competitively and participate in nearby swim meets.
Our coaches seek to build swimmers confidence by encouraging them to move beyond their comfort zone and try new events. With this confidence, many of our Moho Gators try out for year around swim club leagues and compete at the high school level.
MoHo Gators is a non-profit that is supported by the families of our swimmers. The Board consists of parent volunteers who dedicate at least 2 years service. We aim to keep our swim registration costs manageable through fundraising efforts and enlisting ALL parent/guardian volunteers to run each of our home meets

Schedule:
The hours will vary based on the number of coaching staff. The first two weeks will be flexible. Practices typically start after school the last two weeks of the school year. From Mid-June to the end of July the hours typically run from 5am-10a (Monday-Friday). Swim meets occur on Saturday mornings from 7a-12p. Some evening hours may be needed.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Program Development
Create and implement a season-long, age-appropriate training plan that builds technique, endurance, and confidence.
Develop weekly training plans for varying skill levels.
Identify opportunities to grow the swim program and elevate swimmer experience.
Represent Moho Gators at all team events, including swim meets, clinics, “Share Nights,” Pep Rally, Swim-a-Thon, and the End-of-Season Celebration.
Training & Instruction
Lead daily practices and provide individualized feedback.
Ensure stroke assessments and corrections are being conducted consistently.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivational environment.
Collaborate with assistant coaches to maintain cohesive and consistent coaching standards.
Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate assistant and youth coaches.
Conduct regular coaches meetings and ensure delegated tasks are completed.
Support and monitor swimmer engagement throughout the season, following up with families as needed.
Competition Management
Plan, coordinate, and prepare the team for all swim meets.
Determine and approve all meet entries for team-sanctioned meets.
Attend all meets and provide strong on-deck support and strategic guidance.
Analyze meet results to identify opportunities for individual and team improvement.
Communication
Maintain consistent and professional communication with swimmers, parents, assistant coaches, and the Board.
Deliver (or delegate) weekly updates regarding practice schedules, entry deadlines, and program announcements.
Address concerns or questions within 48 hours or escalate appropriately.
Participate in check-ins and end-of-season reviews with the Board.
Professional Standards & Compliance
Ensure swimmer safety in and out of the pool.
Model professionalism, leadership, and sportsmanship at all times.
Maintain all required certifications (Lifeguard, CPR, Safe Sport, etc.).
Uphold Moho Gator code of conduct guidelines and escalate issues per policy.
Qualifications:
Prior coaching experience (youth, club, school, or recreational) strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of stroke techniques, drills, and swimmer development
Experience supervising or mentoring assistant coaches
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
Ability to build a positive, encouraging team environment
Required or willing to obtain: Lifeguard Certification, CPR/First Aid, and Safe Sport training
Enthusiasm for recreational swimming and community-based athletics
