Schedule:

Work will vary but will have at a minimum 10 hours per week and up to 20 hours, depending on other concurrent appointments.

Qualifications:

Graduate student in good academic standing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent written and oral communication skills, knowledge of social media management and basic graphic design.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The LSC communications assistant works closely with department faculty and staff to manage the public image of the department.
Job Duties:
• Strategize and implement departmental branding initiatives across campus and within the broader science communication community.
• Write content for LSC webpage.
• Moderate and engage with followers on departmental social media accounts.
• Maintain and update the LSC website, including but not limited to creating new webpages, implementing good SEO practices and maintain site usability.
• Train and supervise the LSC Lenore Landry Science Writing Intern as well as other undergraduate assistants.
• Assist in organizing the LSC spring colloquium, the departmental scholarship reception and graduation reception, as well as other promotional events within the department.
• Organize regular (as needed) Strategic Communication Committee meeting.
• Manage and organize relevant files and databases, including Comms PA files and Eloqua database.
• Other duties as assigned,
