Home to the humanities, the natural, physical, and biological sciences, the social sciences and the computing, data, and information sciences; the College of Letters and Science (L&S) enrolls more than half of all students at the university. Schedule:
The Digital Content Intern is expected to work 10–15 hours per week with a primarily remote and flexible schedule. Most responsibilities can be completed independently off-site, though occasional in-person meetings may be required. Because this role supports ongoing social media needs, the intern should remain responsive via email and be prepared to handle quick-turnaround assignments within approximately 24 hours when needed.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates will demonstrate: • A strong understanding of social media platforms, especially Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, with some familiarity with Threads • A connection to campus life and current happenings, with the ability to spot and share those relatable, community-building moments • Great graphic design instincts and experience creating content aligned with UW–Madison’s visual identity guidelines • Solid skills in Canva, Adobe Premiere, or similar photography/video editing software • Excellent written and visual storytelling abilities, paired with sharp attention to detail
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Digital Media Intern responsibilities include: • Posting weekly content to the Instagram grid, Stories, and Reels that excites, engages, and grows our audience • Designing graphics that align with UW–Madison’s brand and enhance our social media storytelling • Capturing photos and videos that showcase authentic UW–Madison student life • Exploring new social strategies and pitching creative ideas that resonate with the L&S community • Interacting with followers to build meaningful engagement and strengthen our online community • Assisting with analytics and performance reports to help guide our overall social media strategy • Researching and identifying digital influencers who can help amplify our mission and campaign reach
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The ideal L&S Digital Content Intern is a creative, campus-savvy storyteller who loves capturing moments and turning them into engaging visual content. They’re someone with a positive attitude, a sharp eye for detail, and a natural feel for what resonates with their peers. They’re confident editing short-form videos, designing eye-catching graphics, and bringing fresh ideas to life.
Physical Demands:
This position involves light physical activity, including walking to various campus locations to capture photos and videos, carrying light equipment (camera, phone, tripod), and attending occasional in-person meetings or events. The majority of work is performed remotely using a computer for editing, writing, and content creation.
