Department Overview:
Student Leadership Program (SLP) is a departmentally sponsored student organization supported by the Office for Student Organizations, Leadership & Involvement (SOLI). SLP is funded through GSSF funding provided by the Associated Students of Madison (ASM). This unique positioning provides opportunities for SLP to offer creative and diverse leadership opportunities for all students on campus. This position is funded through ASM and is supervised by the Assistant Director for Leadership Development in SOLI.

Qualifications:
Graduate Student in good standing Preferred Qualifications: student affairs/student advising experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Advising Responsibility (4 SLP Coordinators): Serve as professional-staff advisor and provide program guidance Train coordinators each semester Schedule program planning meeting at the beginning of each semester Provide transition assistance during the Summer Conduct weekly check-In meetings Participate in WiGrow conversations Conduct global competency goal planning and development Provide programming and training facilitation feedback through attending general SLP programming Advocacy: Foster and build relationships with ASM’s Funding Advisor and Financial Specialist to advocate for SLP’s needs Provide GSSF and ASM policy expertise for SLP Provide preparation and training sessions for SLP’s budget and eligibility cycles Serve as SLP’s advocate while aligning with SOLI’s mission and values by escalating issues and voicing needs Leadership Programming: Advise student coordinators about leadership workshops/trainings/conferences/awards ceremonies offered to students Plan and provide leadership/professional development opportunities for SLP student coordinators Attend and support general SLP programs which include general member meetings, committee chair trainings, SLP retreat, and marquee events Policies and Procedures: Provide accountability and oversight of applicable ASM and RSO policies Oversee gift account budget and assist with reconciliation Assist with occasional program purchasing
