Position Summary

This is a part-time, varying hour summer position for an individual to assist the Associate Director and Administrative Coordinator with preparation, coordination, and day-of logistics for 13 summer 2020 SHARP Training (2-3 day workshops). Each workshop requires a few hours of prep in the week before, and then day-of assistance (~8-10 hrs/day). Schedules have minimal flexibility as they align with specific workshop days.

The Event Assistant must be able to work 7:30am-5:30pm all of the following dates to be considered for the position:

  • June 8-9 (2 days)
  • June 11-12 (2 days)
  • June 17-19 (3 days)
  • June 22-23 (2 days)
  • June 25-26 (2 days)
  • June 29-30 (2 days)
  • July 9-10 (2 days)
  • July 23-24 (2 days)
  • July 27-28 (2 days)
  • July 30-31 (2 days)
  • August 10-11 (2 days)
  • August 12-14 (3 days)
  • August 20-21 (2 days)

Responsibilities

The Event Assistant will help with various tasks before and during each workshop, which might include:

  • 90% Day-of logistics and customer service: Assist with set up and clean up, check-in, attendee questions, catering and food preparation, and with any assistance instructors might need during their training. This is a behind-the-scenes role to have the trainings run as smoothly as possible.
  • 10% Workshop preparation: Assist with copy-editing, printing, creating nametags and certificates, organizing workshop materials, and any other tasks related to workshop organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalency required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The Event Assistant needs to have strong skills in customer service, communication, organization, and attention to detail.
