Reporting to the Director of Field Education, the Associate Director is responsible for the development and management of graduate-level Social Work student practicum opportunities; and the management of or assistance with one or more specialization areas: fields of practice and method areas. The incumbent will consistently identify, assess and authorize new field placement sites for both generalist year and specialist year students; recruit and screen new field instructors, and in the process of recruiting and authorizing practicum sites, the incumbent will provide information and training to newly recruited field instructors and education coordinators; systematically and consistently monitor and assess field practicum sites; assess and facilitate the placement of students at field practicum sites; co-chair one or more Field of Practice Advisory Committees with faculty; and contribute to and/or manage the Field Education Placement Planning Preferences.
