Role Summary

FCM Meetings & Events is embarking on one of the most ambitious global standardisation programmes in its history — the M&E Single Operating Model (SOM). This is a 2-year, 13-market transformation programme rolling out an integrated technology and process stack across our global business. We are looking for a talented and driven Project Manager to own end-to-end delivery across our EMEA markets before pivoting to support AMERS markets. You will be the institutional knowledge carrier for the programme: the same person who lands the EMEA blueprint takes it into AMERS. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role at the heart of a genuinely global programme. You'll work across multiple time zones, deployment modes, and business cultures — and you'll leave having delivered something that changes how M&E operates globally. Please note, this is a 24 month FTC.

What You'll Do

Project Planning & Execution

  • Own end-to-end project planning across an assigned portfolio of M&E markets, covering a variety of deployment types across the programme's 2-year delivery window.
  • Develop and maintain detailed market-level project plans — scope, timelines, resources, dependencies, and deliverables — using Agile and hybrid methodologies appropriate to each deployment type.
  • Execute concurrently across multiple markets in flight, managing pre-build, UAT, cutover, go-live and hypercare phases with discipline and pace.
  • As the programme evolves and sequencing shifts, flex the regional focus of your delivery remit in line with programme need — carrying institutional knowledge forward so each market delivery informs and accelerates the next.
  • Regularly monitor and report project progress to the Head of Transformation and Steerco, keeping status transparent and escalations clean.

Business Alignment

  • Partner closely with M&E business and discipline leaders to translate strategic objectives into executable project plans.
  • Ensure all project outcomes align with the overarching programme goals: standardised process, consistent technology, and a single global operating model.
  • Balance the pace demands of a lean, entrepreneurial programme culture with the rigour needed to deliver safely across high-risk, high-complexity markets.
  • Act as the primary bridge between local market stakeholders and the central programme team.

Risk Management

  • Proactively identify, assess and manage risks and issues across all markets in your delivery remit — with particular attention to integration dependencies and sequencing constraints that could impact go-live dates.
  • Own the delivery risk register for your markets, ensuring mitigations are live and escalations reach the right level quickly.
  • Coordinate closely with the Tech Delivery Lead on integration risk, and with the Global Change Manager on adoption risk, ensuring delivery and change land together.
  • Apply lessons learned from each market to continuously improve delivery velocity and risk posture as the programme progresses.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with internal market teams, regional GMs, the central program team, Corp Tech, Deployment, Finance, IT, and external vendors.
  • Communicate project progress, milestones and escalations clearly and consistently — keeping stakeholders informed and engaged across different time zones and cultures.
  • Represent program delivery interests in working group cadence and cross-functional forums.
  • Support the Global Change Manager in stakeholder engagement and readiness activities at a market level.

Resource & Delivery Coordination

  • Work within the firewalled resource model — coordinating with Corp Tech firewall capacity (Dev, QA, Data Migration, Data/Reporting, SA) and Deployment Managers to align delivery capacity to market sequencing.
  • Surface resource conflicts early, escalating to Programme Manager and Steerco rather than absorbing them silently.
  • Support the onboarding of surge resource into market delivery at peak windows, ensuring context transfer is fast and effective.
  • Contribute to programme-level resource planning and sequencing decisions — each market delivery should actively inform and improve the readiness and efficiency of those that follow.

Market Initiation & Pre- Engagement

  • Lead structured pre-engagement for each assigned market, defining scope, deployment mode, key stakeholders, readiness criteria and success metrics.
  • Facilitate the knowledge handover sessions ahead of each market engagement and translate technical context into delivery-ready project artefacts.
  • Develop market-level project charters and delivery plans as the basis for programme-level reporting and Steerco visibility.

Project Monitoring & Control

  • Implement robust monitoring mechanisms across all markets in flight simultaneously — tracking progress against milestones, dependencies and go-live dates.
  • Maintain a live delivery view of market in your remit, feeding into the central programme status cadence.
  • Review and manage delivery against the sequencing plan, flagging any variance that threatens key integration milestones or downstream market timelines.

Quality & Hypercare

  • Ensure quality gates are met at each phase of delivery: pre-build sign-off, UAT completion, cutover readiness and go-live validation.
  • Protect hypercare resource allocation for each market — ensuring no market in hypercare is stripped of support to feed the next deployment.
  • Document delivery lessons learned at market level, feeding insights into programme-level playbooks that improve delivery quality and velocity across all regions.

Project Transition & Readiness

  • As the programme sequencing evolves, lead the structured transition of your delivery focus to new markets or regions — ensuring playbooks, lessons learned and stakeholder context are fully transferred and no institutional knowledge is lost.
  • Establish relationships with incoming market stakeholders early, building delivery plans and supporting Deployment Managers in preparing for market execution.
  • Ensure knowledge is captured in programme artefacts, not held by individuals — so each regional handoff accelerates rather than resets delivery momentum.

Continuous Improvement

  • Actively contribute to programme-level retrospectives and process improvement, applying Agile principles of inspect and adapt across your delivery portfolio.
  • Share delivery insights, risks and reusable artefacts openly with the wider programme team to build collective programme intelligence.
  • Champion a delivery culture that balances pace with quality — fast enough to hit the sequencing plan, rigorous enough to protect go-live and hypercare integrity.

What We're Seeking

  • Proven end-to-end project management experience in complex, multi-market technology programmes is essential.
  • 5+ years delivering technology deployment or migration projects across multiple geographies simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience managing concurrent project delivery across international markets — including the cultural, regulatory and stakeholder complexity this involves.
  • Experience in technology rollouts involving CRM, Finance, ERP, or event/travel management platforms — directly relevant experience highly advantageous.
  • Track record of managing projects within a matrixed, firewalled resource model — working effectively with cross-functional teams you don't directly control.
  • Strong analytical mindset: comfortable with risk registers, dependency mapping, delivery dashboards and milestone-based reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across time zones, seniority levels, and cultural contexts — multi-regional experience essential.
  • Experience in MICE/Travel advantageous but not essential.
  • Scaled Agile (SAFe) certification — highly preferable.
  • Project Management qualification (PMP / PMBOK / Prince2 / Agile or similar) — mandatory.
  • Additional Lean or change management qualifications welcome.
